Locorotondo is nestling in the old cultural landscape of the Valle d'Itria, which is characterized by wine-growing olive groves, orchards of almond and carob trees.
The characteristic buildings are the trulli, round buildings with conical stone roofs that are scattered as individual buildings in the landscape, but also form larger conglomerates up to stately manors.
In the immediate vicinity are the impressive historical places Alberobello, Cisternino and Ostuni and the baroque bishop town of Martina Franca. In the bathing season, between May and October the coast at Savelletri and Torre Canne offers numerous beautiful sandy and rocky beaches.
